FASHION MEDIA & PROMOTION
Within this project, I chose the fashion trend Circuit. I chose to take a different approach to the trend and decided to base this around technology. I was originally drawn to the trend due to its key patterns and graphics, as well as, its name. These all had a connection to technology in my opinion. So, I chose to look into technology and what I think technology taking over humans looks like. Within my final big photo shoot, I showed my representation of this.
My Final Major Project was based around the concept of my Indian heritage. My Indian family all belong to the Hindu religion and this is where a lot of my ideas grew from. I took inspiration from the blue skinned deities Vishnu and Shiva whilst photographing with blue lighting in the studio. This blue colour became a strong theme in my work that linked it all together, resulting in the blue tapestry I created, which took influence from cyanotypes I had made from vintage Indian family photos. This tapestry also features paisley and lotus flower lino prints created and digitally manipulated by myself
For this project I was inspired by psychedelics and the concept of distortion. This involved visual hallucinations and the effects of music on our mind. I wanted my practical work to represent the unusual yet euphoric experiences our mind and body go through.
